Gift Cards
Sizzle limits sellers in the Gift Card category to those meeting certain criteria. This helps to ensure that customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Sizzle.
Sellers must meet the requirements listed below to apply to sell products in the Gift Card category. Please read this list of requirements and consult our Help pages if you have questions about specific requirements. Once you have reviewed the category requirements, you can apply for approval by clicking the Request Approval button at the bottom of the page.
General requirements- Non-functional slot machines created solely for display or as toys
- Sellers must verify their compliance with all applicable regulations for issuers of gift cards.
- Sellers must be the issuer of the gift card. Sellers may not sell gift cards of other issuers.
- Sellers must have a phone number for customer service inquiries for their gift cards.
- Sellers must have a website.
- Physical/tangible gift cards must be available to ship to recipients when orders are placed.
- Gift cards must not be redeemable for cash (except as required by law) at the place where the gift cards are redeemable, or anywhere else.
- Gift cards must not have an expiration date or charge a fee for use.
- If the seller's gift card can be reloaded, buyers must not be able to load more than $2,000 per gift card per day.
- Gift cards may not be sold by, nor be redeemable at, a business primarily dedicated to the sale of tobacco products, firearms, alcohol (excluding restaurants), or goods requiring a medical prescription.
- When a buyer receives the gift card, its code must be active and immediately redeemable at the seller's place of business.
- Gift cards must match the designated denomination. The gift card sold must hold monetary value equivalent to the amount communicated to the buyer (i.e., if the buyer purchased a $50 gift card, there must be $50 of value on the gift card).
- Gift cards may not be network branded (e.g. Visa, Master Card, Discover, or American Express).
- The seller must be both the issuer and the redeemer of the gift card. We do not support gift cards that are redeemable at locations other than the issuer's place of business (e.g., shopping mall gift cards that may be redeemable at any store in the mall will not be approved).
- Gift cards must have a legal disclaimer that details its terms and conditions. This is typically found on the back of the card or on the seller's website.
Each image (JPEG, GIF, or PNG file format) must be:
- On a pure white background.
- At least 500 pixels on its longest side.
- Devoid of any borders, watermarks, text, or other decoration.
- Without accessories, only showing the product alone.
- Showing the entire product, occupying at least 85% of the image area.
